Girl
Hira Nur
Hira Nur pairs a place name with cultural significance and the Arabic word for light.
Meaning
Hira is generally associated with the Cave of Hira near Mecca rather than a firmly established dictionary meaning. Nur means light or illumination, so the combination is best understood through its two parts rather than a single literal definition.
Origin
Both elements have Arabic roots: Hira is a place name, while nur is the word for light. Together, they are used as a girl's name in Turkey.
In recent years
An established choice for some time, Hira Nur ranks 66th in the latest official top hundred, with a best-ever position of 14th. It has appeared ten times overall, including all five of the latest lists, though its ranking has eased slightly lately.
